The RADP was presented at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the NEC conference room in the capital on Monday (March 3). The NEC meeting was chaired by the interim government’s chief advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

The meeting approved the revised development budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. After the NEC meeting, Planning Advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmud said that a DO letter has been given to the Finance Ministry to resolve this. Many projects of the Education Ministry have also been closed due to corruption.The current government has reduced the expenditure of the Annual Development Program (ADP) by Tk 49,000 crore in the NEC meeting. As a result of the reduction in expenditure, the final ADP size has now stood at Tk 2,16,000 crore. The original size of the ADP was Tk 2,65,000 crore.In the 2023-24 fiscal year, 89 projects could not spend a single taka. On the other hand, not even one percent of work was done in 121 projects. The allocation for the health sector is decreasing by 50 percent. The allocation for foreign loans has decreased by 81 thousand crore taka.
